This IUA Webinar, aimed at aviation market practitioners, will review model clauses recently published by the Aviation Insurance Clauses Group (AICG), in particular, in respect of Software and Grounding Liability. The briefing is intended to provide an overview of the wordings and to allow for an interactive discussion with underwriters, brokers and other aviation practitioners.

Attendees will hear from aviation practitioners on the rationale behind the published AVN clauses and key information regarding their intended practical operation. Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions regarding the clauses, which will be addressed in panel-style discussions with speakers. As such, we would be pleased to receive questions in advance on any of the discussion items or other AVN clause related issues.

The clauses that will be the focus of this presentation are listed below and can be accessed on the AICG Website here:

-               Software Exclusion Clause (AVN133)
-               Software Limitation and Aggregation Endorsement (AVN134)
-               Software Liability Limitation Endorsement (AVN135)
-               Software Liability Interlocking Endorsement (AVN136)
-               Software Exclusion Endorsement (Amending AVN52) (AVN137)
-               Software Passenger Limitation Endorsement (Amending AVN52E Dec 01) (AVN138)
-               Software Affirmation Clause (AVN139)
-               Software Affirmation Clause (Applicable to Treaty Reinsurance Risks) (AVN140)
-               Grounding Liability Clause (AVN128)
-               Partial Grounding Liability Endorsement (AVN129)
-               Non-Occurrence Grounding Liability Endorsement (AVN130)
-               Grounding Liability Clause (For attachment to AVN98) (AVN131)
-               Grounding Liability Clause (For attachment to AVN98A) (AVN132)

We will also take the opportunity to consider a draft Business Continuity Event Insurance Period Extension Clause that has been the subject of a recent AICG consultation (CD59) (accessible here). This model clause is designed to allow for an automatic extension of coverage where a business continuity event leads to the inability to renew an insurance policy.
