DTMG Interview 5: The Value of Trusted Data

The IUA Developing Technology Monitoring Group (DTMG) is today publishing its fifth interview in a series focussed on new and developing technology.
This interview was the first to take place live, in the form of an IUA Webinar held on 9 September 2020. It considered the value of trusted data to (re)insurers, with a particular focus on new and evolving technologies.
Representatives from the NPL discuss the role that the insurance industry can have in influencing the adoption of standards and best practices in how data is generated, managed and used. They also provided views on fundamental questions regarding using trusted data to analyse risk and assign liability in respect of emerging technologies, such as Connected and Automated Vehicles, 3D Printing and Blockchain.
This topic features in the latest DTMG Technology Survey opened this week. We would encourage members to provide their views within the Survey in order to support the DTMG’s latest research efforts.
The DTMG has previously published interviews on Autonomous Vehicles, Counter-UAV Technology, On-Demand Insurance and the future of technology. The Group continues to identify key topics of interest to IUA members in respect of the insurability of new and developing technologies.
If you would like to join the IUA’s DTMG or for any further information please contact Tom Hughes (details above) or Jonathan Reed.
